Have you tried a green smoothie?

Today we bring you green smoothies! What makes a smoothie green, you ask? Simply adding a green component (or favorites are kale and spinach) to your fruit smoothie. A green smoothie is different than green juice because by blending your fruit and veggies instead of juicing them, you are retaining all of the fiber! Therefore, green smoothies are a whole food. The benefits of this drink are limitless. Try adding a green smoothie to your daily diet and note any changes. Feel free to share them here, with us!

Another cool thing about green smoothies is that you don’t need some fancy, expensive contraption. A cheap blender works just fine.

This is one of our favorite recipes. We make it so frequently we are calling it the Laser Smoothie:

Handful of Spinach or Kale

1/2 cup Frozen Blueberries

1/2 cup Frozen Strawberries

1 Mango, diced

1 Apple, diced

Throw everything into your blender with about a cup of water (depending on how thick you like it). You could also add a spoonful of greek yogurt if you are looking for a little bit of added protein. Blend on high for about 2 minutes, or until everything is blended well. Poor into your favorite cup and enjoy!
