Managers today have challenges, their workforce and the culture is changing. How do you empower your teams? You must first engage in what matters, have conversations that  create an understanding of their job requirements and know their distinct talents. As a manager, you should ask yourself these questions:

  • When was the last time I really listened to their opinion?
  • Have you clearly defined the job description and have agreements on accountability?
  • When was the last time you praised your team member of a job well done in the first week of the project assigned?

Managers you as leaders have the ability to transform an organization’s culture by implementing a strength-based approach to employee development. You can bet your competitor’s are relentlessly pursuing innovation, technological advancements, and best practices because that’s my job to raise the bar of team performance, develop the strengths within each department in order to meet the owners desire for the model of the company’s focus. What will give your company it’s edge is people who can truly trust their managers, have systems they can depend on and know the vision of the company’s direction.
